Default Just another interview

Hey guys. It looks like more people are getting into these, so I guess I'll jump in as well.

Go ahead and ask me questions, no matter how utterly random they might be!

Well, my top 5 favorite animes would have to be Monster, FMA, FMA: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, and Baccano.

My favorite video games tend to be first-person shooters, like the Halo and Call of Duty series. I've been getting into more computer games recently too, especially with TF2 and the Sam and Max series.

Normal tends to be a relative term for most people, but I think I know what you're getting at.

Yes, I read 'normal' books, and the genres I read tend to vary. For the most part, though, most of what I read is usually fantasy, science fiction, or satire.

Yes, I do like some old movies. I thought Mr. Smith goes to Washington was a good film. I thought To Kill a Mockingbird was good as well. Other than those two, however, I can't remember if I've seen any other movies from that era.

My favorite writers would be C.S. Lewis, John Polkinghorne, Aldous Huxley, and N.T. Wright, in no particular order.

My favorite animal would be the wolf. True, I wouldn't want to meet one in the wild, but they're so majestic.

For me, the best character on Lost is Jack. It was kinda close between him and Hurley during the show, but the series finale pushed him into my top spot.

1. That would have to be Wall-E.

2. Never really thought about it. Jafar?

3. Right now that is actually 'Down to Earth', from the Wall-E movie soundtrack.

4. I guess that removes live-action and CGI. I guess Peter Pan.

5. Toy Story 3. I never thought I would say the sequel of a sequel is better than the original.

Cowboy Bebop is definitely awesome.

I'm getting Halo Reach too! That'll be really fun.

I've really only gotten into computer games recently. A few others are Portal and, when I used to own a PC, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds and the Star Wars: Battlefront series.

1. I'll be honest, I don't tend to read comics. However, thanks to the fine people here at CAA, I have discovered the wonders of webcomics. My favorites right now are The Adventures of Dr. Mcninja and Axe Cop, though occasionally I'll drop by to take a look at some XKCD and Dinosaur Comics.

2. Yes, I do. My family has two dogs, both Golden Retrievers. One's name is Buddy and the other's name is Sunny. They're awesome.

3. Well, right now I'm taking summer classes at college so I can get some credits out of the way. When summer ends, I will officially be in the fall semester of my freshman year. As of now, I am not holding a job, though in my spring semester I might see if there is some work I can get on campus.

2. Favorite homunculus on FMA?

1. I haven't officially declared one yet, but I'm thinking its going to be philosophy. In the past year I've done research, it seems to be a vastly interesting subject for me, though I still have quite a bit to learn.

2. Greed, from FMA: Brotherhood. As we see each homunculi throughout the series, he is the only one to receive any sort of character development. True, the origins and natures of the other homunculi are revealed, but only Greed seems to change as time goes on.

3. I don't recall having said I liked Azumanga Daioh. In fact, I don't recall ever having mentioned it before now. In any case, I am aware of the show and various characters. Based on what little I know about it, I'd probably say Osaka.

EDIT: Oh, I just noticed I didn't answer a few questions. I'm sorry about that.

If I could travel anywhere, it would probably be to Europe. I'd love to see England, France, Italy, Germany, and all those sorts of countries. Europe in general just has such a varied history and culture behind it.

Other than video games and anime, I like to read a lot. I also workout and try to bike when I can.

1. Maybe the Renaissance of Italy. I'd love to hear all the discussions that must've been going on here.

2. Mere Christianity. I feel like I've moved a bit further beyond what Lewis laid out here, but I still owe a great debt to it for introducing me to all sorts of concepts I hadn't heard of at the time.

1. I'd have to say Da Vinci. The Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, the Vitruvian Man...all great masterpieces. It's also awesome that Da Vinci wasn't just a painter, but also an inventor. For example, he was the first (or one of the first) to come up with the idea of a helicopter.

2. Unfortunately, I have yet to read this series by C.S. Lewis. However, I do plan on reading it some time.

Spike. He is a character I find to be very endearing, and just seems so calm and cool.

I've traveled to various places over the years. I've been to Hawaii a couple of times, to Mexico, and to the Caribbean. However, I'm hoping that I'll be able to travel abroad during my time at college, as I've never been to Europe.

For John Polkinghorne, that would be Theology in the Context of Science and Faith of a Physicist (which I am currently reading). In the case of Huxley, I'd have to say Brave New World. Finally, for N.T. Wright, I would say Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church. A small side-note I want to add is that I plan on eventually reading Wright's other works, especially The Resurrection of the Son of God, which is a more scholarly version of his Surprised by Hope.

No, I have not read The Pilgrim's Regress. Just to get this out of the way for future reference, I have only read three major works by Lewis: Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, and, of course, The Chronicles of Narnia series.

1. No, I have not. I didn't tend to read a whole lot when I was younger, and by the time I thought I should start reading the books, the movie versions starting coming out, so....yeah.

2. That would be between Alternative Rock and Indie Rock, though most of the time I lean towards the latter. I really enjoy listening to bands like Arcade Fire and Death Cab for Cutie.
